Why did my tax amount change after I placed my order?

The tax shown at checkout may be an estimated amount. In some cases, Shopify finalizes the tax calculation after your order is placed. Because of this, the final tax amount may be slightly higher or lower than the amount originally shown at checkout, usually by a few cents. 

Is this normal?

Yes. Shopify allows taxes to be finalized after checkout when the tax calculation depends on information that is confirmed after the order is placed.

Will I be charged the difference?

If the final tax is different from the estimated amount, your order may be adjusted to reflect the final tax calculation.
